Don t use drain cleaners which are mainly fine sand and bleach or caustics such as drano which will corrode your unit s guts very quickly and cut the life of it in half.
Clean out garbage disposal smell.
Don t use more than 1 3 cup of bleach and wear gloves when pouring into the drain.
Add in a couple squirts of liquid dishwashing soap.
In a pinch vinegar can be used on its own along with cool water.
Turn on the water turn on the garbage disposal and add a half lemon or lime to the disposal.
Once it has set for about 10 15 minutes you can now start to clean it.
Turn on the garbage disposal and pour 1 cup of dry baking soda down along with a cup of distilled white vinegar to help remove strong odors.
If you have tried the above steps and you can still smell your garbage disposal it may be time for a tougher cleaning solution.

An excellent way to remove bad smells from your kitchen sink is to clean the drain with a mix of two cups of baking soda and half a cup of vinegar.
Fill the sink about half way full with hot water.
However we recommend only using this method occasionally since doing it often may corrode your garbage disposal.
